How Employers Can Improve Their Hiring Process

Reducing time-to-hire usually comes from removing process friction, not from lowering standards.

Define the role before you post it

Agree internally on must-have versus nice-to-have requirements, the compensation range, and who makes the final decision. Ambiguity here is the most common source of delay.

Shorten the loop

Consolidate interviews, set a standing weekly decision point, and give feedback within 48 hours of each stage. Strong candidates are usually in more than one process.

Standardize evaluation

Use a consistent scorecard tied to the requirements. It improves comparability and reduces the influence of unstructured impressions.
